It's been a great month for the Nets, but Monday night ended in disaster. Toronto's Patrick Patterson stole an inbounds pass from Deron Williams with 12 seconds remaining and hit a jumper moments later off a feed from Kyle Lowry. A last-ditch effort from Paul Pierce was off the mark, and the Raptors snuck out of Brooklyn with a 104-103 win.
The Nets had the ball after a timeout following a John Salmons layup that cut Brooklyn's lead to one point with 12 seconds remaining; but Brooklyn's max-contract point guard lobbed the ball down the near sideline, right into the grasp of Patterson. The Raptors were able to capitalize in broken transition with the bucket, and the Nets had no timeouts remaining.
Williams had nine points and 11 assists on the night, but his third turnover was an absolute killer. Patterson finished with 15 points.
