Los Angeles Clippers star Blake Griffin faces charges stemming from an altercation outside of a Las Vegas nightclub. The Clark County district attorney is pursuing one count of misdemeanor battery, which carries a possible punishment of six months in jail and/or a $1,000 fine, according to TMZ.

According to the official complaint, the alleged incident involved Griffin and a 39-year-old identified only as "Daniel" back in October. The Los Angeles Times reported that the victim was carrying a camera outside the Tao Nightclub. The report also stated that the star power forward slapped the right side of Daniel's face. The Clippers were in Las Vegas to play an exhibition game against the Denver Nuggets.

A court date has been set for Dec. 8. That night, Griffin's team is scheduled to play the Phoenix Suns at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Griffin is averaging 24.3 points and 6.9 rebounds per game so far this season.
