The Cleveland Cavaliers have a likely opportunity to put together stretches of competent offense against a Denver Nuggets team that's likewise off to a 1-3 start. LeBron James, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love visit the Pepsi Center on Friday night hoping to end a two-game skid and coming off a loss at the hands of Gordon Hayward's game-winning jumper.
Denver fell to Sacramento, 131-109, on Wednesday by allowing 55 percent shooting and putting the Kings on the foul line 50 times. The up-tempo Nuggets have given up the NBA's third-most points per game this season, meaning Cleveland will have plenty of opportunities to find a rhythm.
The lack of ball movement has been the Cavs' biggest issue on offense, and James reportedly confronted Irving hoping to fix it.
But quietly, the Cavaliers defense has struggled even more than the offense by allowing opponents to shoot 49.5 percent, the third-worst mark in the league so far. Nuggets point guard Ty Lawson and forward Kenneth Faried might have a number of open shots themselves, setting up what looks to become a high-scoring affair.
