NBA trade rumors roundup: Kevin Love on the move

Kevin Love isn't set to be a free agent until the summer of 2016 but that hasn't stopped anyone and everyone from asking him about his future decisions before the Feb. 20 trade deadline.

Love can opt out of his current deal at the end of the 2015 season and the Timberwolves are likely to offer him an extension before that. Of course, the tension over his last contract is well-documented and many believe he is looking to field other offers this time around.

It's clear that Love is partial to the city of Los Angeles, having been born there before spending much of his youth in Oregon. While L.A. is the most-rumored destination for the 25-year-old forward, so should be any contender come time to make a decision. Love wants to win, and win now, most of all. Love was asked on on live TV Friday about his intentions during the All-Star Celebrity Game and knows the questions (and speculation) won't stop.

"If I say that I like Charlotte and I say that, ‘Oh, yeah, Charlotte’s a great city. I love spending time there,’ then all of a sudden I’m going to Charlotte. Anything I say is going to be misconstrued or be some sort of a headline," Love told the Boston Herald on Saturday.

If you weren't already sick of discussing Love's eventual landing place, prepare for at least another year. Things should come to a fever pitch during next season's trade deadline as the Timberwolves decide what will be best for their franchise moving forward. Love is their best player and losing him for nothing -- in 2015 or in 2016 -- isn't something General Manager Milt Newton can handle. The Timberwolves are out of the playoffs as of today and without Love they'd be a lottery team once again.

Both parties will just need to wait until next season when a real decision can be made. Until then, expect the murmurs surrounding Kevin Love to slowly build into a dull roar.

Andre Miller moving to a contender?

Embattled veteran point guard Andre Miller has been rumored to be on the outs in Denver for quite some time, and with the trade deadline fast approaching the Nuggets are actively looking for suitors.

Miller was placed on the trade block back in January after screaming at coach Brian Shaw during a game. He was initially suspended but had it rescinded so he would remain getting paid. Miller was then excused from the team. Since then, the Nuggets have been looking to move him.

Denver is rumored to want to move him to a contender, who would be more likely to give up young assets as they make a push for the playoffs, according to Ken Berger of CBS Sports. In weeks prior Miller's name has been linked with the Sacramento Kings and New  York Knicks. For what it's worth, Denver is willing to part with just about anyone save for Ty Lawson, so the possibility of a multiple-player deal with the Nuggets is very real.

Rockets still looking to make a deal

Omer Asik might not be leaving Houston. Unless he does. The Rockets are still trying to find the right piece that rounds out their championship hopes but the feeling from General Manager Daryl Morey is they will keep Asik unless the right deal presents itself.

The Rockets are looking to remain flexible while adding a small piece or pushing to move Asik or multiple other players to land a big game changer, according to a report from Jonathan Feigen of the Houston Chronicle. Morey likes how Jeremy Lin and Asik round out the bench, and trading either proves difficult due to their contracts.

Of course, the Rockets do have a few assets that could be moved before the deadline, including Donatas Motiejunas, Ronnie Brewer and Isaiah Canaan. Houston has the rights to their own draft picks plus the New York Knicks' second-rounder.

Rodrigue Beaubois returning to NBA

Former Dallas Mavericks point guard Rodrigue Beaubois will be returning to the NBA, according to a report from CSNNW.com's Chris Haynes.

Beaubois has been out with a broken hand since the start of the year but will begin workouts for several teams next week, with the Washington Wizards and Memphis Grizzliers already rumored to have interest. It would make sense for playoff teams to consider Beaubois, who is only 25 years old. Last season he had per 36 minute production numbers of 11.9 points, 5.5 assists and 1.2 steals on 37 percent shooting.
