Thunder vs. Lakers final score: Jodie Meeks shoots LA to 114-110 win

The Los Angeles Lakers used Jodie Meeks' career-high to shoot their way past the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Guard Jodie Meeks put up 42 points on 18 shot attempts, and the Los Angeles Lakers lit up the Oklahoma City Thunder on their way to a 114-110 victory at the Staples Center.

The Thunder were coming off a 128-122 loss to the Phoenix Suns on Friday, and the story read similarly Sunday. An up-tempo team spread the court and attacked Scott Brooks' defense with three-point daggers, finishing the day hitting 13-of-31 from deep.

Just as Suns guard Gerald Green went for a career-high 41 points by knocking down eight threes two days prior, Meeks got hot in the third quarter. Oklahoma City led by as many as 18 points in the first half, but 20 points by Meeks in the third helped Los Angeles turn the tables.

It didn't matter than Kevin Durant recorded a triple-double of 27 points, 12 assists and 10 rebounds. Or that Russell Westbrook scored 20 points to go with eight assists.

The Lakers led by 17 points with 11 minutes to play, but the Thunder clawed back by getting active on the offensive glass. Los Angeles' lead was down to five with a minute to play. Westbrook took a rebound the length of the court to put a dunk on Kent Bazemore's head, and the play pulled Oklahoma City within three points with 45 seconds left.

But Bazemore followed Westbrook's dunk with a scoring drive for the Lakers, and Oklahoma City dropped its second game in a row by failing to put together a strong offensive possession when it needed to.
