Nikola Jokic to enter NBA draft

Serbian big man Nikola Jokic will declare for the draft, but will he work his way into being a first-round pick?

USA TODAY Sports

Serbian prospect Nikola Jokic will enter the 2014 NBA Draftaccording to Jonathan Givony of DraftExpress. The center made some noise with his play at Hoop Summit practices this month.

The first thing you'll notice about Jokic is his size. He's only 19 years old, but he's a solid 6'11 and 250-plus pounds. He's no stiff, either; while he's not the most athletic big man, Jokic is skilled and versatile while possessing nice touch, footwork and passing instincts. He grew up playing point guard, and at the Hoop Summit he demonstrated an ability to shoot from the outside that he had not previously shown playing in Serbia. If teams believe he can be a consistent threat from the perimeter, his value could rise. He has a wingspan of 7'3.

Jokic is projected to be selected in the second round in the latest DraftExpress mock draft, slotted in as the No. 42 pick.
