Kevin Durant injury: Thunder star out with sprained toe vs. Timberwolves

The hits keep on coming for Oklahoma City.

Reigning MVP Kevin Durant will miss the Oklahoma City Thunder's game against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Monday with a sprained big toe in his left foot. The injury occurred in OKC's loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers on Sunday afternoon.

This will be the 24th game Durant has missed this season. He sat out the first 17 games of the year with a foot injury and has also dealt with an ankle sprain.

Durant had 32 points against Cleveland on Sunday and had been playing great, averaging 26.5 points per game on 50.7 percent shooting in January. Oklahoma City is still on the outside of the Western Conference playoff picture, entering Monday night in 10th place in the conference and three games behind the Phoenix Suns for the No. 8 spot.

The Thunder are 8-15 in games without Durant this season. Oklahoma City plays the Knicks and Grizzlies after the Timberwolves to end the week.
