According to ESPN, East Lansing Police were not called to the scene of Conrad's Grill during the altercation. Officers were already in the business district of the town when they responded to what was described as "commotion".
A statement from East Lansing PD to ESPN:
"We are confirming that Draymond Green was arrested for assault in our downtown business district early Sunday morning at around 2:30AM. The victim was a male. It was basically an altercation between two guys. There's no injuries. He was released with a 200 dollar bond on Sunday. And he's got 10 days to get arraigned and then prosecution will continue from there."
A manager at the restaurant denied to comment about the altercation Monday afternoon to SB Nation. The rest of the details of the case have yet to be made public. The offense took place at 2:28 a.m. and Green will be arraigned in court on July 20.
The arrest of Green comes just a week after the Golden State Warriors announced the signing of free agent Kevin Durant.
Green just completed the first season of a five-year, $85 million contract with the Warriors. He helped lead the team to a 73-9 record and a second straight appearance in the NBA Finals. He hit career highs for points (14.0), assists (7.4), rebounds (9.5) and field goal percentage (49 percent) along the way.
East Lansing is home to Michigan State, where Green played his college ball from 2008-2012. Green was part of two Final Four teams with the Spartans and was named a first-team All-American as a senior. He recently gave Michigan State the biggest donation in the history of its athletic department.
