Plus Kyle Kuzma roasted Lonzo Ball, Star Wars, and Kelly Oubre’s overalls.

Hi, hello, welcome to B Sides: Volume 8 of the 2017-18 NBA season. How is it already mid-December?

The NBA season is flying by. The Rockets went on a 25-0 run against the Hornets. Paul George returned to Indiana, and it was rough for everyone. And Gordon Hayward is already out of his walking boot!

Put all that aside for now, because I have seven new reasons for you to love the NBA this week.

1. Kyrie Irving wore lobsters on his shoes

Kyrie has been unleashing all kinds of wild Kyrie 3 colorways this season right before the launch of his Kyrie 4, but the lobsters top it for me. He’s really leaning into this Boston thing:

2. The actual mayor of Indianapolis said Victor Oladipo is the mayor now

Victor Oladipo has been yelling “This is my city!” all over Indianapolis, and Twitter has been claiming he’s now the mayor of the city. Apparently the real Mayor thinks so too:

“You know, when I was told that Quinn Buckner would be introducing the mayor in Indianapolis, I thought I’d have the afternoon off. Because from what I’ve been hearing, there’s a new mayor in town and his name is Victor Oladipo.”

3. Kyle Kuzma roasted Lonzo Ball

He’s not wrong and Kyle Kuzma remains the best:

4. Russell Westbrook making these young fans so happy

First, I’ll never get tired of moments like this. Second, Russ nearly passed up these kids but spotted them at the last second and ran over to them. Third, THEIR FACES:

5. Kelly Oubre’s overalls

Kelly Oubre wore a Supreme sleeve on his leg earlier this week, and the NBA made him remove it. After the game he said, "I tried it, they didn’t allow it, so it’s on to the next one. Wave Papi do wavy thing.” So then he wore this:

Oubre is becoming a B-Sides regular. Wave Papi forever.

6. The Warriors bench losing its mind for a David West dunk

David West is still dunking, and the bench reaction makes me so freaking happy. I could just watch it on repeat forever. I’m gonna miss this dude so much.

7. These Gatorade Jordans

I am a sucker for ‘90s nostalgia, especially the NBA-related kind. This weekend the Gatorade Jordan’s will release, and they are so pretty:

There’s actually an entire “Like Mike” collection from Nike, and I recommend all of it.

8. These Star Wars x NBA koozies

I can’t explain why I like these so much. They’re not even that good. I just never want to drink a Coke Zero again without one.

You can find all of them here if you’re also weird like me.
