Jonas Jerebko will sign a two-year, $8.2 million deal with the Jazz according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowksi. Jerebko is a 6’10 power forward who most recently played for the Celtics. Last season he averaged 3.8 points and 3.5 rebounds per game in Boston on an average of 15 minutes per game. Jerebko is from Sweden, making him the eighth international player for the Jazz. The Jazz also signed Thabo Sefolosha on Wednesday.
What should Jazz fans know about Jonas Jerebko?
Jerebko is the kind of player who can do a little bit of everything for your team. If you look at Jerebko’s time in Boston, the numbers may not jump off the page but this was largely due to minor injuries and a crowded roster.
When Jerebko was given the time in Boston, he made the most of it — especially in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals. Jerebko’s defense in that game was a large part of how the Celtics pulled off their only win of the Conference Finals. In just 13 minutes, he also tallied 10 points, five rebounds, a block, and a steal.
