Oklahoma City’s Andre Roberson went up for an alley-oop and landed awfully after his leg appeared to buckle on the way up. Roberson hit the ground hard afterward and pushed his body with his arms to the sideline before realizing he wouldn’t be able to get up without pain. According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the preliminary report is that he suffered a ruptured patellar tendon.
The medical staff wrapped up his left leg, which appeared to be the problem here despite the tough fall on his backside.
It was tough to watch as his teammates rallied around to comfort him, and Detroit Pistons guard Ish Smith dapped him up. He was carted off on a stretcher.
Hopefully this injury isn’t as bad as it appears. The Thunder have already missed Roberson for a short stretch this month, and their defense was only a shell of what it could be with him on the floor.
This is a tough break for Roberson and a Thunder team that was just figuring itself out.
