Spot the difference in the Spurs’ ‘Thank You’ tweets for Kawhi Leonard and Danny Green

Yeah, the team knows what it’s doing.

Kawhi Leonard and the Spurs were far from friends in their final months together before he forced his way out with a trade. That was no secret. Early on Wednesday, San Antonio shipped him, though not giving Leonard a deal to a team in L.A. as he wished, instead dealing him to Toronto.

As has become tradition for all sports teams to do in the era of social media, the Spurs tweeted out a “Thank you” message to Leonard and Danny Green, who is also going to the Raptors in the deal.

ONE OF THE “THANK YOUS” IS NOT LIKE THE OTHER.

Yeah, don’t let this fool you, the Spurs probably know what they’re doing here. The shoutout to Green is likely in larger font on purpose.

That’s reminiscent of the time on Kawhi’s birthday when the team sent out an unenthusiastic tweet and Spurs fans went wild in the mentions.

The replies to Kawhi’s “Thank you” were just as good:

All Spurs fan felt that.

Spurs fans are doing great with this breakup so far.

FAIL.

See ya.

Oh?

Hahaha, good night. Kawhi Leonard is a Raptor.
