Big East Tournament 2011 Bracket Update: Syracuse Beats St. John's In The Garden

That Madison Square Garden magic didn't work a second time, as Syracuse ousted the home-court St. John's Red Storm 79-73 in the Big East Tournament quarterfinals. In round one, St. John's got a smattering of awful calls in their favor, for which the conference later admitted wrongdoing. This time, a traveling call on Dwight Hardy all but ended it.

Cuse will get UConn next in a matchup of regular-season underachievers. Syracuse beat the Huskies in their only meeting this season, holding Kemba Walker to a season-low eight points. All right Kemba Walker! Let's watch video of that game-winner again!

Brandon Triche led the way with 22 points and six rebounds for Cuse, with Fab Melo hitting a clutch shot down the stretch and ending up with 12 points.
