UConn advanced to the 2011 Big East Tournament quarterfinals with a 79-62 second-round win over Georgetown. Kemba Walker added his usual 28 points and seven rebounds, while the entire Hoyas offense minus Chris Wright was pretty much just Jason Clark and Austin Freeman, both of whom had 20 or more points. Jeremy Lamb also contributed 11 points, four boards, and four steals for the Huskies.
Pitt awaits in the next round for UConn. They met once this season, with the Huskies falling 78-63 in Pittsburgh after starting the season 10-0. Walker scored 31 points, but not much else went right for Connecticut.
Georgetown is just biding its time until the return of Wright at this point. The injured guard should be back in time for the NCAA Tournament, but now his teammates will have a chance to rest up as well. Stayin' positive.
