With 14 seconds left in a dismal game on the road in Tallahassee, Roy Williams led his North Carolina bench off the floor before Florids State fans rushed the court to celebrate a huge win for the Seminoles. ESPN reported on air that it was Leonard Hamilton's idea.
Yeah, it was that sort of day for both North Carolina and Florida State.
The Seminoles scored their biggest-ever triumph over North Carolina in a 90-57 rout that rarely even felt like an upset. On this Saturday, the 'Noles were simply better.
Much of the difference in the game was FSU shooter Deividas Dulkys finding his groove. Dulkys exploded for 32 points in the win, sinking eight threes and making 12 of his 15 shots, and also had four assists, four steals, and a block. Just two other Florida State players reached double figures, though Okaro White did have 10 rebounds to go with his 12 points.
For the Tar Heels, no one stepped up on the road in a game to forget. Tyler Zeller had 14 points, 14 rebounds, and four blocks in the loss, but buried his face in a towel on the bench near the end of the game.
