Appalachian State (6-0) remained the No. 1 team in the Week 8 edition of The Sports Network FCS Top-25 College Football Poll. It's the third straight week in which the Mountaineers have been atop the rankings, followed by No. 2 Delaware and No. 3 Jacksonville State. All three school are undefeated this season (6-0, 7-0 and 7-0, respectively).
William & Mary and Stephen F. Austin (with its lone first-place vote) round out the top-five.
The four remaining top-ten teams are all new: Montana jumped from No. 11 to No. 7; Eastern Washington is now No. 8; Wofford improved to No. 0; New Hampshire went from No. 16 to No. 10 on the strength of their win over then-ranked No. 7 James Madison -- the Dukes fell to No. 11.
Bethune-Cookman, the other undefeated FCS program, had the biggest move of the week, jumping nine spots to No. 14 after it beat then-No. 10 South Carolina State, ending their 21-game MEAC win streak in the process.
And yes, the Colonial Athletic Association continued its overall awesomeness: seven of the top-16 teams are from the CAA, including three of the top-six and four in the top-ten.
