South Carolina needed big plays. It went to its two brightest stars to get them.
Marcus Lattimore ran for 18 yards and finished the Gamecocks' drive with a one-yard touchdown run that, after the PAT, put South Carolina up 35-21. But it was Alshon Jeffery's tremendous one-handed catch — hauled in while Dre Kirkpatrick tugged on his jersey — that keyed the South Carolina drive.
That was a 45-yard reception, and took the Gamecocks from midfield to the red zone. It's also may be the single best play of the Steve Spurrier era at South Carolina.
