Oregon Vs. Arizona: Thomas' Four Touchdowns Lead Duck Assault In 48-27 Win Over Wildcats

The Oregon Ducks are going back to the BCS. Whether or not they play for the National Title remains to be seen and depends largely on if they beat Oregon State next week, but their worst-case scenerio is now a Rose Bowl thanks to a second-half explosion of 34 points and a 48-27 win over Arizona.

Qregon QB Darron Thomas shook off an early interception and completed 14-of-24 passes for 148 yards while gaining 62 yards for a ground game that amassed 406 yards. Heisman Trophy hopeful LaMichael James added 126 yards and two scores on 28 carries for the Ducks, winners of 16 straight at Autzen Stadium.

Nick Foles started strong but failed to move the chains with consistency, throwing for 448 yards with three touchdowns and an interception on 29-of-54 efficiency in the loss, the Wildcats’ (7-4, 4-4) third straight.

Oregon blog Addicted To Quack was concerned after an even first half. However after watching the Ducks go nuts in the second half, that was more like it for them.

After an evenly played first half, the Ducks game out blazing in the second half, outscoring the Wildcats 34-10. Josh Huff got it started with an electric 85 yard touchdown run, and the offense kept rolling from there. If the Cal game put any doubt in your mind about our place as the best team in the country, tonight’s game told that doubt to shut the hell up. The Ducks have clinched a second straight Pac-10 championship, and are one win away from an undefeated regular season.
