Oregon Vs. Oregon State, Halftime Update: No. 1 Ducks Lead Miscue-Filled Civil War, 16-7

It's halftime in Corvallis, and despite a number of mistakes, top-ranked Oregon carries a 16-7 lead over arch-rival Oregon State into halftime. The difference so far has been the Ducks' formidable running game.

Kenjon Barner already has 85 yards in only 10 carries, and LaMichael James has contributed 84 more. In total, the Ducks have 186 yards and a touchdown on the ground. However, a Josh Huff fumble in the first quarter took the ball out of Oregon's hands in Beaver territory.

The Ducks missed another opportunity to score as time expired in the second quarter, and in somewhat strange fashion. Oregon was in position to end the half with a 25-yard chip-shot field goal, but they let the play clock run all the way down rather than call a timeout. Oregon State, perhaps knowing something we don't, decided to decline the penalty. The Ducks' kicker, Rob Beard, then missed the field goal, kicking it just barely wide right.

As such, Oregon leads Oregon State by two scores. The Ducks are set to receive the ball to open the second half.
