In the final BCS rankings of the 2010 season, the SEC's best team is, once again, the best team in the nation.
After finishing an undefeated season with a 56-17 destruction of South Carolina in the SEC Championship Game, the Auburn Tigers take the top spot in the final BCS standings, and earn a berth in the BCS National Championship Game, where they will meet the second-ranked Oregon Ducks.
That game in Glendale will be the crown jewel of the 2010 bowl schedule, and was the last bowl selection not officially announced. But the rest of the BCS rankings set up the other BCS bowl games nicely.
Auburn and Oregon are followed in the top five by TCU, Stanford, and Wisconsin. This means that TCU, Stanford and Wisconsin all have automatic BCS berths; the Cardinal will head to the Orange Bowl, where they will play Virginia Tech, while TCU and Wisconsin have a date in the Rose Bowl.
Further down in the rankings, Ohio State and Arkansas both look good for their prospective Sugar Bowl date as at-large teams, while Connecticut failed to sneak into the top 25 of the BCS standings before its Fiesta Bowl date with Oklahoma.
