College Football Awards: LaMichael James Wins Doak Walker Award, Making Him Rap Album Of The Year

Oregon Ducks RB LaMichael James is taking home the 2010 Doak Walker Award as the nation’s top running back. If you happened to notice he’s the only running back nominated for the Heisman Trophy, you probably already knew he would win this award. He’s like the one rap album nominated for Best Album at the Grammys every year. You know it’s not going to win Best Album, but it’s probably not going to lose Best Rap Album. Anyway.

James ran for 1,682 yards and 21 touchdowns, powering the Ducks offense that led the nation in scoring, won the Pac-10, and pummeled many a defender into a faux injury. He’ll square off against fellow award-winner Cam Newton in the BCS National Championship Game. His biggest game came against Oregon’s toughest foe to date, when he blew Stanford’s doors off to the tune of 257 yards and three touchdowns.
