The first BCS rankings of the 2011 college football season are just one week away, meaning the college football rankings are going to be more important than ever very shortly. And Oklahoma topping the Week 7 USA Today coaches poll means the Sooners are in great shape for BCS success in 2011.

Oklahoma expanded its lead on No. 2 LSU and No. 3 Alabama after walloping Texas in the Red River Rivalry on Saturday, and leads the coaches poll for the second straight week. The Sooners can likely win out and head to the Big East for a berth in the BCS National Championship Game.

Elsewhere, both Florida and Florida State fell out of the top 25, making this the first time in almost three decades that Florida's big three schools -- Florida, Florida State, and Miami -- have all been outside the polls.
