Cincinnati Bearcats quarterback Zach Collaros will miss the rest of his senior regular season after suffering an ankle injury against the West Virginia Mountaineers. He'll require surgery, but could return for the team's bowl game.
@ralphDrussoAP Cincinnati QB Zach Collaros will have surgery on fractured right ankle Monday. Out for regular season. Could be back for bowl.
Collaros took a hard fall during a sack in the second quarter.
His exit puts Cincy's BCS run in serious jeopardy. Coming into the WVU game, the Bearcats looked to be the Big East favorite. After losing a critical game and their quarterback, it's up to Munchie Legaux to rally the troops.
Collaros has 1,854 yards and 14 touchdowns to eight interceptions on the year. Legaux has seen minimal playing time this season, with 21 of his 28 attempts coming on Saturday.
