Gary Pinkel Arrested: Press Conference Scheduled For 4 P.M. CT

Missouri Tigers coach Gary Pinkel has apologized to his players and staff for his Wednesday evening DWI arrest, saying he'd had dinner with friends before the incident. In a statement, Pinkel accepted responsibility for his misdeed:

I am very disappointed in myself for my lack of judgment in this instance. Nobody should drink and drive, including me. I accept full responsibility for my actions.

Athletic director Mike Alden also released a statement, and has scheduled a press conference for 4 p.m. CT to discuss the matter.

This absolutely goes against everything we stand for and everything that he teaches his players in regards to social responsibilities. This is very serious breach of those responsibilities. We are gathering facts & will take action appropriately.

Alden noted Mizzou is putting together information and will take action. If Pinkel is to be suspended for a game or so, expect that announcement this afternoon.
