BCS Rankings, Week 14: Alabama Still Second, But Oklahoma State Lurks

The LSU Tigers are still atop the BCS Rankings in Week 14, but the Alabama Crimson Tide and Oklahoma State Cowboys are worth keeping an eye on for the National Championship once the BCS standings are final.

The  BCS rankings were bound to be shaken up this week considering two of the top three teams met when the LSU Tigers played the Arkansas Razorbacks. LSU dispatched of Arkansas in spectacular fashion, however, leaving an opening for a third team -- the Oklahoma State Cowboys -- to re-enter the picture behind LSU and Alabama in the Week 14 BCS standings.

It would seem that the Tigers will remain in line for a national championship no matter what happens in next week's game with Georgia Bulldogs. Even if the Tigers fall to the 'Dawgs, SB Nation's BCS expert still believes that LSU would remain in to the two and therefore still in contention for a title.

The second team in the national championship seems like it should end up being Alabama, but Oklahoma State has a case to make ... it just won't be easy.

4. How likely is Oklahoma State to jump Alabama anyway?

Not likely. The scenario is different from 2006 in that OSU is currently behind not just Alabama but also Stanford and Virginia Tech in both polls. It will require a huge change of heart from a majority of those voters to push OSU all the way up to No. 2 and forget that it lost to a 6-5 Iowa State team. As of this week, that sentiment isn't there.

The same probably can't be said, however,  for the Stanford Cardinal and Virginia Tech Hokies -- the fourth and fifth teams in the rankings -- or even the undefeated Houston Cougars, who jumped ahead of the Boise State Broncos this week. Arkansas, Oregon and Oklahoma round out the top ten this week.
