LSU Tigers special teams did its job, with star punter (he really is!) Brad Wing pinning the Alabama Crimson Tide deep, but A.J. McCarron overcame the setback. The Bama QB soon found Marquis Maze for a 19-yarder to threaten Tigers territory, then Trent Richardson plunged ahead to mark the Tide's second midfield crossing already.

Eddie Lacy, who'd been limpy for the past few weeks with turf toe, burst through the line for 20 yards, looking primed to score. After a five-yard substitution penalty, onrushing safety Eric Reid consumed Lacy in the backfield. Cade Foster was sent on to attempt a 50-yarder after missing a 49-yard attempt. This one also sailed right. And short.
LSU is winning special teams, I say.
