2012 Tennessee Football Schedule: Third Saturday In October Retained

The Tennessee Volunteers didn't have much to worry about on SEC schedule release day, since there's no way their annual cross-division rivalry with the Alabama Crimson Tide would be affected. Indeed, all is well, as the game is right where it should be:

Sept. 15: FLORIDA
Sept. 29: at Georgia
Oct. 13: at Mississippi State
Oct. 20: ALABAMA
Oct. 27: at South Carolina
Nov. 10: MISSOURI
Nov. 17: at Vanderbilt
Nov. 24: KENTUCKY

Other positive vibes for the Vols: No two SEC road games in consecutive weeks, Bama in Knoxville ... that might be about it. Still, having a very balanced road-and-home schedule is good news for a still-young Tennessee team facing plenty of questions in Derek Dooley's third season. Losing streaks won't be tolerated quite as well this time around.
