Keith Marshall gave Georgia fans something to cheer about today as he committed to the Bulldogs, Dawg Sports reports. The speedster from Millbrook High School of Raleigh, North Carolina is widely regarded as one of the top running backs in the country.

Marshall held offers from Georgia, Clemson, South Carolina, Florida and Notre Dame, among others. In the end, it came down to Georgia and Clemson. Clemson did draw the last in-home visit, but UGA was thought to hold the edge for most of the college football season.
It's pretty easy to see what Marshall brings: speed, speed and more speed. He's a burner, and with elite acceleration, he reaches top speed within his first few steps. The marginal competition he faces in high school has no chance catch him.
At 5'11" and 190 pounds, Marshall doesn't run with much power. Most project him as an every-down back, but early on he'll likely be an explosive change of pace option and a special teams contributor. Marshall also catches the ball well and should be a serious threat on third down if he can learn the pass protections.
