Florida Football Players Earl Okine, Jon Halapio Fine After Car Accident

Florida Gators Jon Halapio and Earl Okine were involved in a small automotive adventure Sunday, but avoided injury.

While driving east toward Gainesville, Florida Gators players Earl Okine and Jon Halapio reportedly sustained a minor car accident Sunday, according to the Orlando Sentinel and others, but made it back to campus in one piece. The story goes that a tire popped, causing the vehicle to touch some shrubbery, and that medical responders cleared the linemen to proceed home.

It would take a whole lot of grass and trees to sideline a Florida football player, that's for sure.

Okine is a redshirt junior defensive end from Gainesville who's appeared in 16 games, most of them on special teams in 2010. Halapio, a redshirt sophomore guard from St. Petersburg, has started seven contests and made the 2010 Sporting News All-Freshman Team. These are important facts to read about.
