Kevin Rogers' Leave Of Absence Inspires Terrible, Insensitive Blog Entry

Boston College offensive coordinator Kevin Rogers is taking a leave of absence, citing health reasons. We all joke about college football and fire off playful barbs 99-percent of the time, but not when it comes to health. While we don't know what, exactly, is ailing Rogers, any kind of health issue that requires a coach to step down just as the season begins has to be considered serious.

And it's certainly not reason to fire off a poor attempt at a joke. Yes, Zach McCann, Boston College lost to UCF while scoring three points on Saturday. No, Mr. McCann of the Orlando Sentinel, this does not give you an open invitation to speculate that said loss factored into Rogers' decision to take a leave of absence.

But it’d be naive to think BC’s three-point showing against UCF didn’t at least partially contribute to this decision. Getting shut down by a C-USA team — even one as good as UCF — is not a good look for a prominent ACC school.

Not a good look, bro. Next time, leave the ridiculous speculation at home. Be a human being and show some compassion.
