The college football rankings for Week 5 keep Oklahoma on top in one poll, despite LSU's superb September. The Sooners take the top spot in the Week 5 USA Today coaches poll, and are followed by the SEC's top two teams, LSU and Alabama, who tie for second. Stanford and Boise State round out the top five.
Oklahoma came back from an early deficit to dispatch Missouri on Saturday, while LSU and Alabama defeated ranked teams — West Virginia and Arkansas, respectively — in convincing fashion.
Oklahoma State moves up to sixth following its comeback over Texas A&M, and is followed in the bottom half of the top 10 by Wisconsin, Nebraska, South Carolina, and Virginia Tech.
The Week 5 AP Poll has LSU at No. 1.
