The Tigers have an impressive early season resume, with wins over Oregon, Mississippi State, and West Virginia, and secured 42 first place votes in the AP Poll as a result.
The Tigers are followed by Oklahoma, Alabama, Boise State, and Oklahoma State in the Week 5 AP Poll top five. The Cowboys leaped two spots after taking down Texas A&M on the road.
The Week 5 USA Today poll has Oklahoma at No. 1, with LSU and Alabama following at a tie for second.
