Where Those Danny O'Brien-To-Oklahoma State Rumors Came From

Former Maryland Terrapins quarterback Danny O'Brien has drawn the interest of many power conference schools since transferring away from Randy Edsall. The latest hot sports buzz has the Oklahoma St. Cowboys with a chance at bringing him on. It appears, according to Gina Mizell, the chatter comes from Oklahoma City's Pat Jones of WWLS radio.

It's a fine pairing to consider, as OSU has to replace veteran starter Brandon Weeden, and O'Brien fared much better in the less-conservative Maryland offense of his freshman year. O'Brien could play right away too, so long as he enrolled in a graduate program that Maryland doesn't have.

Still get the feeling he'll end up with the Vanderbilt Commodores and former offensive coordinator James Franklin. Edsall has filed a complaint with the ACC, and thus the SEC, alleging Franklin tampered with O'Brien while the quarterback was still a Maryland player. O'Brien's family was set to lobby to have transfer restrictions removed that would've prevented him from choosing Vandy. Edsall eventually removed them.
