Danny O'Brien Rumors: Penn State, Wisconsin Still Among Candidates

Say, did you remember former Maryland Terrapins quarterback Danny O'Brien still has yet to pick a new school? It's true! While the Vanderbilt Commodores would appear to remain the top contender, the total list has narrowed to four or so, based on reports.

The Penn St. Nittany Lions, Wisconsin Badgers, and Connecticut Huskies remain in the running, the Hartford Courant reports.

Penn State would offer O'Brien the chance to play right away for Tom Brady's former offensive coordinator, Bill O'Brien, not to mention give PSU the nation's strongest O'Brien tandem. Wisconsin has shown it can incorporate a transfer quarterback into its system just fine, having reached the Rose Bowl with Russell Wilson last year. And UConn would give O'Brien the opportunity to really, really, really spite Terps coach Randy Edsall, who left the Huskies for Maryland. Can't say it's not tempting.

The rising junior plans to take visits and make a decision soon.
