Former Maryland Terrapins quarterback Danny O'Brien will be the next ACC quarterback to join the Wisconsin Badgers, Jeff Potrykus reported Wednesday. Bruce Feldman confirmed the news shortly after. No Vanderbilt visit? That would be quite a surprise, but here we go.

O'Brien left the Terps after a rocky sophomore season that saw Randy Edsall's roster torn apart by evacuees. He's visited Ole Miss as well, not to mention Penn State twice, but Bret Bielema's Badgers offer an enticing position. Last year, fellow transfer Russell Wilson took the starting job for one year, producing a Rose Bowl trip. The Badgers return Montee Ball, but have major offensive line losses to patch up.

O'Brien was the ACC's 2010 Rookie of the Year before losing the starting job at one point in 2011, his only year under Gary Crowton in College Park.

No word yet on Max Garcia, who left Maryland at the same time as O'Brien and is expected to land with a SEC school.
