When they say that you can win or lose a game on special teams, they're no doubt talking about the kind of guys we have listed below. Punters who can change field position -- maybe even make a pick or two -- and place kickers who are near certainties to bang up between the goal posts.

This poll will stay open all weekend, with the full list of winners revealed Monday morning.

Tim Dwight, Iowa Hawkeyes
Had 1,102 punt-return yards -- still an Iowa record -- and five touchdowns in his career. Came in seventh in the Heisman voting in 1997.

Ray Guy, Southern Miss. Golden Eagles
Averaged 44.7 yards a punt over his career. Once kicked a 93-yard punt against Ole Miss. Also had eight interceptions in 1972, tied for the most in a season in Southern Miss history. Ever heard of the Ray Guy Award?

Mike Nugent, Ohio St. Buckeyes
Missed just three of 139 PATs -- all before his junior year. Was 81.8 percent on field goals, and eight of nine from 50+ yards. Led nation with 24 field goals in 2004, finished career with 72.

Daniel Sepulveda, Baylor Bears
Two-time Ray Guy Award winner. Logged NCAA-record 12,531 yards of punts in four seasons; his 45.2 career average is tops in NCAA history among punters with at least 250 attempts.

Previously inducted ST: Desmond Howard, Michigan.

The SB Nation College Football Hall of Fame is a summer project involving all of the network's excellent college football blogs. Each community could nominate five of its own for inclusion, with 10 of those nominees being inducted by our selection committee, which included reps from most FBS conferences. The remaining 10 will be chosen by public vote Wednesday and Thursday.
