UAB marched down the field and kicked a field goal in the game's first possession, but it would be all downhill from there as South Carolina rolled to a blowout 49-6 victory over the Blazers.
The Gamecocks offense sputtered a bit early, but the defense would get them going mid-way through the first. UAB were already leading 3-0, and they were driving down the field for more. Things looked OK, but then this happened:
It was all Gamecocks from that point on. They'd add another pair of touchdowns to take the game into halftime at 21-6, and they'd receive the ball to start the second half.
They'd add two more scores in each quarter of the second half, and the defense held UAB scoreless for the final 30 minutes as South Carolina cruised to the easy win. Next up for South Carolina will be the Missouri Tigers.
Box Score Hero: Marcus Lattimore led the way for South Carolina, carrying twelve times for 85-yards and a score.
Rankings Ramifications: There probably won't be too much movement at the top of the rankings after most of the top ten had convincing wins.
But Did They Cover? South Carolina was favored by 33, and they won by more than that. They easily covered the spread. The over/under was set at 54, so those who took the over are smiling.
