College Football Rankings, Week 5: Kansas State Leaps To No. 8 In Coaches Poll

As was the case in the AP Poll, the Oregon Ducks jumped the LSU Tigers in the latest USA Today Coaches' Poll, leaping into the No. 2 spot after topping the Arizona Wildcats over the weekend. The Kansas State Wildcats broke the top 10 after an upset victory over the Oklahoma Sooners.

The Wildcats, ranked No. 13 headed into the weekend showdown with No. 5 Oklahoma, stunned the Sooners in Norman, and jump five spots to No. 8 in this week's poll.

LSU slips to No. 3 in the latest iteration of the Coaches' Poll after their tough road victory over the Auburn Tigers, landing just 10 points behind the Ducks.

The nation continues to lag behind the Crimson Tide, who ride atop the rankings for a fourth consecutive week. The Tigers and the Tide are joined by two other SEC teams in the top six — the No. 5 Georgia Bulldogs and No. 6 South Carolina Gamecocks.

The Florida State Seminoles remain at No. 4 after defeating the then-No. 9 Clemson Tigers over the weekend, but build some support, gaining 1306 points after receiving 1240 last week.
