2012 College Football Rankings, Week 2: AP Top 25 Jumps Alabama Over USC

The Alabama Crimson Tide have reclaimed the top spot in the Associated Press Top 25 after USC held it for just one week. They're followed by USC, LSU, Oregon and Oklahoma in the top five.

Entering Tuesday, the big question regarding the polls was whether Bama's convincing win over No. 8 Michigan would be enough for the Tide to overtake No. 1 USC, which dusted Hawai'i. Some had also wondered whether No. 5 Oregon's blowout of Sun Belt champ Arkansas State meant the Ducks could swap spots with No. 4 Oklahoma, which didn't exactly overwhelm UTEP. It appears these things happened.

Early on, the BCS computers also might be leaning Alabama's way, as indicated by Jeff Sagarin's BCS-approved formula results.
