2014 NFL Draft order: Top teams in need of QBs

The Jacksonville Jaguars remain on top of the 2014 NFL Draft order, but that's only because they've lost one more game than the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Jacksonville Jaguars remain on top of the 2014 NFL Draft order, but that's only because they've lost one more game than the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Suffice to say, with four more weeks of teams getting a bye, it's still early to look at the order. For instance, the New York Giants currently hold the fourth overall pick but are just two games out of the NFC East.

The Jaguars and Buccaneers are followed by the Minnesota Vikings. The Giants and Pittsburgh Steelers round out the top five. Those first three teams are the most intriguing since each seems likely to draft a quarterback. That last happened in 1999 when Tim Couch (Browns), Donovan McNabb (Eagles) and Akili Smith (Bengals) were the top three picks.

Draft order tiebreakers are first determined by opponent strength of schedule. Then it's by division record if those teams are in the same division. The final tiebreaker is in-conference record, if only those teams are in the same conference. The last tiebreaker is a coin flip at the NFL Scouting Combine.

Below is the complete 2014 NFL Draft first round order, as it currently stands. Since we're hypothetically ending the season right now, the strength of schedule only through games played is being used.

1. Jacksonville Jaguars - 0-8 (.705)
2. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - 0-7 (.547)
3. Minnesota Vikings - 1-6 (.481)
4. New York Giants - 2-6 (.557)

8. Houston Texans - 2-5 (.642)
9. St. Louis Rams - 3-5 (.475) (1-5 conference)
10. Philadelphia Eagles - 3-5 (.475) (3-2 conference)
11. Cleveland Browns - 3-5 (.567)
12. Buffalo Bills - 3-5 (.583)
13. Baltimore Ravens - 3-4 (.481)
