Considered by most to be the top safety in the 2013 NFL Draft, Kenny Vaccaro of the Texas Longhorns was unable to run at the Texas Pro Day on Tuesday due to a hip flexor injury, according to Bryan Broaddus of DallasCowboys.com.
Vaccaro, 23, didn't run a particularly impressive 40-yard dash time at the 2013 NFL Combine, officially finishing in 4.63 seconds. With a better time at his pro day, Vaccaro could've erased some doubts about his speed, but now he'll have to do so in private workouts, assuming his recovery from the injury allows him to.
In the latest mock draft from SB Nation's Dan Kadar and Matthew Fairburn, Vaccaro is projected to be selected by the Dallas Cowboys with the 18th pick in the draft, just three selections before the Cincinnati Bengals are slated to take Florida International safety Jonathan Cyprien.
In his senior season with the Longhorns, Vaccaro finished with two interceptions and 96 tackles.
