In the wake of the sudden offseason departure of DeSean Jackson, many mock drafters expect the Philadelphia Eagles to target a replacement as early as the first round. Brandon Lee Gowton of Bleeding Green Nation, however, went with cornerback Kyle Fuller in the first round of our mock draft, instead choosing to address the receiver position with this second-rounder right here.

"The Philadelphia Eagles have shown a ton of interest in drafting a wide receiver this year, which obviously makes sense since they released DeSean Jackson. At least six pass-catching prospects have been brought to the team facility for an official visit. But the player the Eagles take at No. 54 in this mock is not one of those receivers. Instead, it's Davante Adams of Fresno State.
Adams makes sense for the Eagles due to his size and skill set. The Fresno State sophomore is tall enough at 6'2 but plays even bigger than his height due to his explosive leaping ability. Adams is a dangerous red-zone target who can high-point the ball. He also has the ability to get yards after the catch by making people miss in the open field. Adams recorded a total of 38 touchdowns in just two years of college. Chip Kelly wouldn't pass up on the opportunity to add yet another playmaker to an already lethal offense."
Dan Kadar, SB Nation's NFL Draft analyst, has some thoughts and opinions to share on the Eagles' mock draft pick of Adams:
In the actual draft, it sure looks like the Eagles are targeting Indiana wide receiver Cody Latimer. Adams would be a better choice because he is a better player. There is no better way to state it. He's more of a dynamic athlete and has just as good size and hands. What he doesn't have leading up to the draft, for some reason, is Latimer's buzz. But on Philadelphia's offense, Adams can come in and develop alongside Riley Cooper and Jeremy Maclin without needing to be a top guy immediately. That's the best case scenario for Adams.
Coming up at 3 p.m. ET, Josh Kirkendall of Cincy Jungle makes the second-round pick for the Cincinnati Bengals.
