Ryan Van Bibber, our resident St. Louis Rams blogger at Turf Show Times, picked Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2014 SB Nation NFL Writers Mock Draft. The reaction to the pick went exactly as one expects the reaction to something unexpected will be; 48 percent of over 3,200 voters graded the pick as a big, fat F. It's almost like this Manziel character is controversial or something.
We're going to go out on a limb and guess that RVB's second pick this year will ruffle significantly fewer feathers.

"It’s the perfect match. The back of the Rams secondary leaks worse than the time you tried to fix the curvy pipe of your sink. This defense under Gregg Williams will need someone it can rely on in single high coverage. Dix can handle that. Finally, this defense can match up to its peers in the NFC West."
Dan Kadar, our residing NFL Draft analyst, has some thoughts and opinions to share on the Rams' mock draft pick of Clinton-Dix:
This pick is the anti-Manziel. Clinton-Dix is often the choice for the Rams at this pick in mock drafts. There is nothing unexpected. There is no surprise. Clinton-Dix has been the choice for St. Louis so many times because it just works perfectly. He's a solid value choice at 13. He obviously fills a need. This is a sound choice. In other words, the opposite of the Manziel pick.
