2014 NFL Draft final top 200: Jadeveon Clowney finishes at the top, where he started

In our first set of 2014 NFL Draft rankings that came out last May, South Carolina pass rusher Jadeveon Clowney was the top player. Like Andrew Luck in 2012 and Ndamukong Suh in 2010, Clowney never moved off the No. 1 spot. Like those two, Clowney is a rare talent.

When talking about these generational prospects, current comparisons are rarely apt. For Luck, it was John Elway. For Suh, it was Joe Greene. How good can Clowney be? How about the next Bruce Smith? Forget the scheme or the system. It can be molded around Clowney.

The talent of the draft this year goes much deeper than Clowney. When Steelers General Manager Kevin Colbert said this was the deepest draft he's ever seen, he was right. There will be debates on where a player is ranked and ultimately draft, but there isn't one about far into the draft starters will be found. Second- and third-round picks this year should be coveted. Top wide receivers go at least 12 deep. There's a strong group of offensive tackles. Cornerbacks come in all shapes and sizes, but have plenty of skill.

Then, there are the quarterbacks. Throughout the whole draft process, Matthew Fairburn and I have said they're all flawed, but have great potential. Some teams are going to love Johnny Manziel and hate Teddy Bridgewater. Another team will be just the opposite. Another team will have Blake Bortles at the top. Someone is going to love Tom Savage (though maybe they shouldn't). As it is with any draft, this one will be defined by the quarterbacks. With the rest of players in this draft, if there are a couple franchise quarterbacks, this could become an all-time great draft.
