2015 NFL mock draft: Jake Fisher to Philadelphia Eagles at No. 20

Did you know that Chip Kelly used to coach at Oregon, and is now coaching a lot of his former Oregon players in Philadelphia?

Very few teams have had as interesting an offseason as the Philadelphia Eagles, who have made several bold moves under Chip Kelly in an effort to get back to the postseason. Their collection of moves has drawn a fair amount of praise, a healthy dose of criticism, and a crushing number of jokes about Kelly's seeming infatuation with Oregon products.

Brandon Lee Gowton has covered it all over at Bleeding Green Nation, and it just so happens that he's making the Eagles' pick in our 2015 NFL mock draft. Would you believe that he's picking an Oregon player?

20. Eagles: Jake Fisher, OT, Oregon

Gowton: Marcus Mariota may be off the board, but luckily for Chip Kelly he can still draft an Oregon player at No. 20. Duck Bias aside, Fisher is a pick that makes a lot of sense for Philadelphia. The Eagles could potentially enter 2015 with both of their starting guards from 2014 out of the picture. Todd Herremans was already released, and Evan Mathis is rumored to be traded or cut. Fisher could immediately step in as a starter on Philadelphia’s offensive line. The 6'6", 306-pound senior is a great athlete who is a proven fit for Kelly’s system. The Eagles like their offensive linemen to be versatile, and Fisher fits the bill.

More than just filling a short-term need, this pick also makes sense in the long term. The Eagles could draft Fisher to immediately fill in at guard before moving him out to right tackle in the future, if/when Jason Peters retires and Lane Johnson takes Peters' place at left tackle.

Dan Kadar, SBNation.com: The Oregon connection is there, but after that it’s hard to make complete sense of this pick. If the intention is to draft a player to start at guard and eventually move out to tackle, there are some better choices available. Florida’s D.J. Humphries, for instance, fits the same athletic requirement. He has the potential to be a much better offensive tackle.
