Mock his exuberance all you want, but there is probably no better announcer in the span of football history for calling an unlikely victory on an even more unlikely Hail Mary than Gus Johnson. So it's a good thing Johnson was in the booth for David Garrard's miracle throw to Mike Thomas that lifted the Jaguars over the Texans today. We got a treat out of it on one of the best plays of the year.

How does that look written out, you ask? Is "awesome" not a good enough answer?
↵"Garrard ... fires. Mike Sims-Walk-ER! Knocked down. OH! HE CAUGHT IT! UNBELIEVABLE! MIKE THOMAS! TOUCHDOWN JAGS! BALLGAME! 50 YARDS! HA HA!↵
So what if the final score was actually 31-24 after an extra point, and the Jaguars only moved to 5-4 with the victory? I submit that Gus Johnson certifying any dramatic moment with "BALLGAME!" is, in 2010, the best moment of any fan's season.
