Rob Ryan's breath probably smells like Nikes by now after jamming his foot knee-deep into his mouth. Earlier this week, the Cowboys' defensive coordinator said the following about Detroit's Calvin Johnson:
"We work against better receivers with Miles Austin and Dez Bryant. They are probably two of the premier receivers in football, but this guy is right there," Ryan said. "He's almost that good. He's excellent."
Johnson, of course, caught not one but two highlight-worthy touchdowns against Ryan's defense, sparking the biggest collapse in Cowboys' history. After the game, the Lions had some fun at Ryan's expense.
"He got a lot of respect for him for not being the best receiver on their team," said Stafford, who finished 21 of 43 for 240 yards. "(Ryan) throws a couple of guys on him here and there."
From Schwartz's post-game presser:
Johnson finished the game with eight catches for 96 yards. Bryant also scored twice, but was quiet late in the game, finishing with three catches for 37 yards. Austin, of course, missed the game completely with injury.
