The Minnesota Vikings not-so-surprisingly released WR Bernard Berrian earlier this week after he had been deactivated in two of the last three games. Any player released after the trade deadline hits the waiver wire, which means every team has a chance to claim him (and his contract).
Berrian went unclaimed on the waiver wire Wednesday afternoon so now he becomes a free agent available to sign with any team.
That he wasn't claimed isn't a surprise because whoever picked him up would be on the hook for the rest of his 2011 salary. The Vikings are now responsible for that and Berrian can sign elsewhere.
He has just seven receptions for 91 yards this season so, while he'll draw some interest, he may not have teams banging down his door to sign him.
