Hank Williams, Jr. issued an apology Tuesday for using an analogy on FOX News that compared Barack Obama to Adolph Hitler. From his official website:
"I have always been very passionate about Politics and Sports and this time it got the Best or Worst of me. The thought of the Leaders of both Parties Jukin and High Fiven on a Golf course, while so many Families are Struggling to get by simply made me Boil over and make a Dumb statement and I am very Sorry if it Offended anyone. I would like to Thank all my supporters. This was Not written by some Publicist."
This is the second statement Williams has made about the interview since his TV appearance. The first, issued on Monday, attempted to explain his analogy but was otherwise unapologetic.
The most visible fallout from his comments was ESPN's decision to pull Williams' traditional "Are You Ready for Some Football?" musical opening from their Monday Night Football telecast. ESPN has not yet announced whether they plan to continue using it in the future.
