VIDEO: Darrius Heyward-Bey 34-Yard Touchdown

Oakland Raiders wide receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey scored a touchdown with less than a minute in the second quarter to cut the Houston Texans’ lead to 14-12. It was the Oakland receiver’s first touchdown catch of the season.

With the Texans curiously playing a soft zone, with a sizable cushion for the Raiders’ receivers, Heyward-Bey caught Jason Campbell’s pass at the 30-yard line, shook off a defender and ran down the sidelines for the score.

Heyward-Bey was the Raiders’ first-round pick in the 2009 NFL Draft, a classic Al Davis draft pick known for his blazing speed and little else. Fitting that today, a day after Davis’ death, that Heyward-Bey would score his first touchdown of the season.

That was just the third career touchdown catch for Heyward-Bey, the seventh-overall pick in the 2009 NFL Draft and the first wide receiver taken that year.
